On Friday October 14, 2011 at approximately 0912 hours, Ledyard Police Dispatch received a 911 call from a residence on Marla Avenue in Ledyard, Connecticut reporting a home invasion at that location. The caller reported that 3 black males had entered the residence through the basement, one of which was armed with a small silver handgun.
The black male subject armed with the handgun proceeded to point the gun at one of the occupants of the residence while attempting to rob the occupants. The black males proceeded to hold the occupants at gunpoint while locking doors in the residence to prevent escape and searching for items to steal. After several minutes within the residence, the black males fled through the basement in an unknown direction.
There were no reported injuries. A physical search of the area for suspect was initiated. Detectives and Officers from the Ledyard Police Department, Detectives and Troopers from the Connecticut State Police, as well as Officers from the Montville Police, Norwich Police and agents with the FBI New London, began searching the surrounding towns for the suspects. In doing so, two of the suspects were located at 16 Franklin Street, Apartment 306 in Norwich, Connecticut. The suspects were taken into custody and transported to State Police Troop E Montville, Connecticut. They were charged in the incident and held on bond pending their arraignment at GA 10 on Monday October 17, 2011.
