The Ledyard Police Department is currently attempting to locate the following missing person. Ryan Bidstrup 09/21/1989 of 5 Green Point Street in Ledyard. He was last seen on March 31, 2011 in the Highlands section of Ledyard. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Ledyard Police Department at 860-464-6400.
On September 5, 2014 at approximately 1057 hrs the Ledyard Police Department received the report of an altercation within a residence on Laurel Ave in Ledyard. Officers from the Ledyard Police Department along with a Connecticut State Trooper responded. On arrival the victim advised investigating Officers that the accused had pointed a weapon at her, shined a light from the weapon onto her chest, and during the altercation placed his hands around her neck. The weapon, which was a BB type gun resembling a rifle, was recovered by Police at the scene. As a result of this investigation, James A. Vocolina 3rd DOB 01/15/1994 of Laurel Ave Ledyard was arrested and charged with Threatening 2nd Degree, Disorderly Conduct, Strangulation 3rd Degree, and Brandishing a Facsimile Firearm. He was held in Lieu of $25,000 bond with a court date of September 8, 2014 at GA 10 New London.
