Transfer Station Location
The Ledyard Transfer Station is located at 889 Colonel Ledyard Highway near the Town Public Works Garage and the Animal Control Office.

Transfer Station Hours: (860) 464-9227The Transfer Station is open 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Saturday, and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Transfer Station is closed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Transfer Station Fees
No Fee:
- Electronic Equipment (Computer etc)
- Leaves and brush (residential)
- Waste Oil and Antifreeze
- Car Batteries
- Scrap Metal
- Non-Freon bearing appliances
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Ni-cad – Cell phone Batteries
Fees Collected:
- Tires - Car $2, Truck $5, Oversize $50
- Freon-bearing Appliances - $10 per item
Note: Refrigerator doors must be removed from unit before it will be accepted
Stumps - Not accepted
Residential Bulky Deposit Fees**
- Small load (pick-up) $25 Bulk /$50 Shingles
- Medium load (small dump) $75 Bulk / $200 Shingles
- Large load (large dump) $150 Bulk / $400 Shingles
- Bulky Waste (includes furniture)
Contractor Fees (Copy of Contract Required)
- Pick-up Bulky - $25, / Shingles - $50
- Small Dump Bulky - $75 / Shingles - $200
- Large Dump Bulky - $150 / Shingles - $400
- Leaves/Brush Small Load (pick-up) $5
- Leaves/Brush Medium Load (small dump) $15
- Leaves/Brush Large load (large dump) $25
**Note: Normal bulky waste charges work out to about $25 per cubic yard, which is estimated most simply by the nominal size of typical vehicle level loads (i.e., pick-up – 1 yard, small dump – 3 yards, large dump – 6 yards). Transfer Station attendants use discretion in judging oversized and undersized loads to determine charges.
