The Planning Commission, with the assistance of the Department of Planning & Development, reviews and approves subdivision plans and the capital improvement program. It is also responsible for updating and overseing the implementation of the Plan of Conservation and Development.

The Planning Commission meets on the 1st Thursday at 7:30 pm in the Council Chambers in the Town Hall Annex.

The Town of Ledyard is a Certified Local Government, which means that the town government has developed and implemented a local historic preservation program based on federal and state standards. As a CLG, Ledyard is eligible to receive funding for historic preservation projects.
