The Ledyard Police Department is seeking Connecticut POSTC Certified police officers to fill a current vacancy. Active or retired Connecticut POSTC certified officers or applicants who are currently certified as police officers in other states are encouraged to apply. All candidates will be required to successfully complete a written exam, physical agility test, oral interview, thorough background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological examination, and a physical examination (including drug screening). The Ledyard Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of full time Police Officer to potentially fill an upcoming POSTC Academy seat. Entry level applicants must be on an active Law Enforcement Council of South Eastern Connecticut eligibility list, must be at least 21 years of age, be a United States citizen, and possess a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. The Ledyard Police Department’s testing process includes, but is not limited to, the successful completion of a Cooper Standard Physical Agility Test, Oral Board, Police Chief Interview, Background Investigation, Drug Screening, Polygraph Examination, Psychological Examination, and Medical Examination.
